My Squidoo and HubPages Journey

So this is my first post which talks about the things I do to make money online by writing and sharing things that I am passionate about. For the past year, I have focused on writing at HubPages, a revenue sharing site where you can easily publish your articles and earn money on the side. I guess I can safely say that I have been quite successful on HP, although my earnings aren't something to brag about. After a little over a year, I'm very close to reaching 1 million views. There's some regret, because I know that I could have done a lot better in terms of traffic and income had I only exerted more effort in making more hubs. For those who are interested to know, I published around 120 hubs on my main account, but I deleted about 50 of them. Take note that I use a different username on HP.

Part of the reason why I started this blog is to focus on another HP account using my name. Actually, I have created the account about 6 months ago, but I barely touched it. So I want to start creating hubs and share them here with you, and let us all see how they would go.

During the past week, though, I have focused on my Squidoo account, which I also created about 6 months ago but I didn't really do anything. For the next two months, I would focus more on Squidoo, since I have yet to earn anything from it. I receive a decent amount of income from HP, so I want to diversify and try my luck on Squidoo.

My ultimate goal for 2013 is to create my own site, something that I've been considering for a long time now. I'm hoping to learn more about online marketing so I'll be better prepared for future projects.

There you have it. Let's see if I would be able to achieve all this by year's end.

  1. I have begun a writing journey online as well and it does help to divide the time between both content sites to earn more money. I check out books dealing with online writing and editing to help me. I just finished "Editing Made Easy"(forgot author name) yet even a book on editing help improve online writing. Good luck with your hubs and Squidoo!
